Piers from offbeat meru camp noticed a lone young ele calf who appeared to have a broken leg piers called the david sheldrick wild life trust to alertthem about the orphan. The keepers rescue team landed at the meru airstrip and was driven to the orphans location. The calf was safely captured and trasported back to nairobi by plane the ele had possibly having trodden on a poisoned elephant spikes hidden just beneath the soil on a elephant trail. However she took water and milk throughout the night but collapsed the next day and had to be put on a life support during the afternoon murera is ok now
